“E hoʻi i ka nani i Māliko” is a maxim to rally our community to return to the practice of aloha ʻāina (devotion to land), aloha kanaka (human relationships), and aloha akua (divine connectivity). It is a call to rekindle the spirit, identity, and well-being of a place once lived, cultivated, nurtured, and loved.
For those who have felt the diminishing pulse of our bay and valley, we are here to inspire purpose and action for Māliko. Together, we are turning neglect into recovery and sorrow into JOY.

Our first step is to clean the land and sea, addressing the ruin caused by decades of neglect and misuse. In doing so, we are clearing the path for the land to breathe again and bring beauty back to Māliko.

Through Hawaiian cultural stewardship and island culture responsiveness, we directly contribute to the recovery of this beloved area and the restoration of our commitment to nature.

NĀ MAKA O MĀLIKO
Nā Maka o Māliko is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization in Maui, Hawaiʻi, born from a deep affection for one of Maui’s most cherished places, Māliko. To return to beauty is to return to ourselves; we are answering the call to rally individuals and a community to rekindle the spirit, identity, and well-being of a valley and bay that have long suffered from neglect and misappropriation.
Through the practice of aloha ʻāina (devotion to land), aloha kanaka (human relationship), and aloha akua (divine connectivity) our mission is to bring awareness to the urgent needs of this area and directly contribute to its recovery. We are working to Clean, Restore, and Return this land to the community as a safe haven of peace, tranquility, and JOY.
